Selfridges Forest Bar and Resturant on the Roof

On the fifth floor, the exclusive lift opens up to a wooden heaven. Dimly lit trees And beautiful passageway make you feel like you have been transported to a real life secret garden.

When you walk into the cafe you can feel the rustic vibe but it opens out to be less private than I originally thought. I really liked the decor and thought it had been done in good taste.

As we had booked for afternoon tea I didn't get a chance to look at the regular menu. The afternoon tea menu comprised of regular £20 or fizzy afternoon tea £25. Personally I think this is very reasonably priced for where you are and how full we all were.

The lady reeled off the extensive list of teas Selfridges had to offer, being the adventurous person I am I obviously choose English breakfast. To be honest the table was too small for the 4 of us and for all of the pieces needed to fit on the table. Being peak timing I'm assuming theu have tried to accommodate a few more tables than usual. Having said that it did feel more snug than uncomfortable, so just don't expect a lot of space.

The afternoon tea consisted of a pot of tea each with a bottle of milk to share . A three tier cake stand between two people with various sandwiches and cakes including a brioche chicken roll, salmon sandwich, apple tart (decorated with cress), banana bread with honeycomb and a strawberry macaron. There was also a tray of scones, very dough like almost like cakes, and enough for two each. Clotted cream and raspberry coulee appeared alongside the tray in very generous sided pots.

I am so pleased we went as I did really enjoy it. I think I feel a Christmas tradition starting.
If you have been please tell me what you thought and most importantly, what did the menu contain?

Life Through a Lens #3

February started off really well, however towards the end of the month I became ill with glandular fever (over exam time which wasn't ideal.) I love using this as a diary for me to look back on so I have included some random memories this month.
1. I love a good takeaway, me and my boyfriend spent a weekend in just relaxing. So naturally neither of us wanted to cook.
2. For a while we have also been a little bit addicted to Millies Cookies, they are amazing. We managed to collect our stamps and got 4 free, I think it was.
3. This month I also had a cheeky lunch time trip with my boyfriend's mum to Pizza Hut, and I have a new favourite. King of the Coast! Go try it, but not if you aren't a fan of king prawns.
4. I also had dinner trips with some friends. On place was a lovely cocktail bar/restaurant in Essex.
1./4. I had a week of being a bit pamper mad where I painted my nails and made my own spa night complete with a relaxing bath.
2. This was sparked by my spa treatments at the Dove Spa which I will be doing a post on next week.
3. The Valentine's Box from Glossybox was so pretty this month I had to include it. To see what I received this month click here.
Valentine's Day was amazing, my boyfriend never fails to not surprise me in some way. Actually, we celebrated it on Friday 15th this year as we couldn't see each other on 14th.
I didn't know until Valentine's that my boyfriend had actually arranged anything and even then all I knew was that we were going to London.
1. I got into the spirit and wore a rose gold/purple eye look.
2. It turned out that my boyfriend had bought us tickets to see The Lion King at the theatre, it was absolutely amazing and I cannot express how lucky I am.
3./4. The last two pictures are some of the bits I got for my boyfriend, we normally don't get big presents so I warned him he was going to be disappointed with my offerings this year.
Sorry for all you Valentines haters that thought you had heard enough for one year.
1. My spending ban kind of went out the window clothes wise as I found some bargains in Primark, post to be up soon.
2. I have been really ill this month with tonsillitis so I've been taking it slow as I've had exams and don't want to get too stressed.
3. My new yellow blazer from H&M, I used my Unidays discount and got this 20% off. I'm looking forward to the summer when I can whack this bad boy out.
4. Still without breaking my spending ban, Maybelline have 3 for 2 on in Boots. So me and my Boots card made some purchases.

I love seeing these so let me know if you do updates.

Life Through a Lens #2

These photos aren't actually in any order, just as I came across them on my phone.  I really enjoyed putting pictures from my holiday to New York in my last Life Through a Lens post so I thought I would do a similar post with what I got up to in January.
(Left to Right)

I bought the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, Yes I did! I was so excited about trying this as I have heard so many good thing about this brand and love the Pixiwoo sisters. (Samantha designed the brushes for those of you that didn't know)

The Apocalips Lip Lacquers by Rimmel might have found their way into my life, and oh would you look at that, there was a 3 for 2 offer as well. Naughty!

At the very beginning of January I debated as to get The Sims 2 and after about half an hour I decided it was a very good idea.

This month I also started reading The Time of my Life by Cecilia Ahern who is one of my favourite writers.

I made a small ELF order, the picture included is actually of the wrong brush that they sent me. Unfortunatly they have a policy where they don't send out replacements but they did refund my money. Which isn't really the same but at least they excepted that they had send me the wrong item.

January can be really expensive with the sales, but on top of that I know so many people with birthdays in January I spend a lot of time buying presents for people.

I finished the last ever episode of Gossip Girl, accompanied by a lovely little pot of Cherry Ice Cream. Very lovely indeed, worth a try.

On one of my shopping trips this month I got a Costa Coffee Smoothie, I religiously get Millies Cookies Iced Smoothies so I felt a bit naughty that I had strayed from my usual beverage.

I have been craving a holiday. I keep searching for holidays at ever opportunity but I probably won't get the chance to go on one this summer.

Walkers Pickled Onion crisps
, have you heard of them? I suddenly got a massive craving for these this month and no one believed me that they existed, so I stalked them down and found some in an ASDA.

Love a nice cup of tea and a Rich Tea biscuit. I am such an old woman. I am really funny about dipping food in drink but tea and rich tea biscuits are the ONLY exception, I'm so weird.

I posted my first ever Outfit of the Day picture on Twitter. It's something that I want to do more often as I think it would give you a great opportunity to get to know my style and therefore a little more about me.

Anyone that is subscribed to Glossybox would have received a night mask this month. I've never had one before and I'm a little bit scared to use it because if I wake up in the middle of the night and can't see anything I might think that I've gone blind in my sleep. Seriously I'm getting more crazy as this goes on.

I bought the famous Enrapture rollers back in November I think, and I really love them. I only use them in the evenings if I'm doing something nice so I've played around with them a few times so I might be doing a post on these soon.

Me and my boyfriend like taking his dog for walks, we go to a wooded park where we walk in the river. This time shown the river had gotten really deep and was flowing really quickly.

As I mentioned this month is all about birthdays not only in my family but with family friends and my close group of friends. So I've been going out to restaurants quite a lot this month and I also treated my boyfriend to dinner to say thank you for taking me on holiday and spoiling me in general. We went to TGIs and it was so good their cocktails are amazing too.
